Responsive Quiz-Taking App

Summary

The quiz app is designed from UX (user experience) data. The original designs were from a project I did as part of the Google UX Design Certification. The user stories I was addressing:

  1. Help reduce stress and anxiety induced by the idea of a quiz. I used an optional 1-minute breathing exercise at the beginning to help people to reduce anxiety.
  2. Meaningful feedback to support learning. Often in quizzes feedback is limited and not helpful. A user should understand why an answer is either right or wrong. For multiple-choice questions, it is important for the feedback on why an answer is wrong. Similarly, it is helpful to have feedback to explain the logic behind a correct answer too. The correct answer feedback is often overlooked, yet is vitally important. It helps the learner to confirm their thinking processes.

Creating this in Articulate Storyline was not without its challenges. I had to learn JavaScript in order to create theproject, and display the right level of feedback. I then used the new JavaScript knowledge to create a personalised certificate. You can read more about the issues I faced in the full project write-up.
